I wanted to make a post about my new camera (Canon Rebel XS), but after taking a few photos of myself I realized...how those 10 megapixels make a difference. EVERY SINGLE PORE ON MY FACE BECOMES EXPOSED! Which prompted me to buy a new face mask and a powder brush to save my vanity. Until my face becomes more acceptable, it shall not be seen through a macro lens!

...I feel that overall I've become more self-conscious, for one reason or another. This past week I've been trying to be that finicky calorie counter girl who asks, "How many calories are in this blueberry!?" but after awhile it get so exhausting! My weight is totally in the healthy range, any girl would slap me for wanting to lose weight. However, no girl would argue against looking more skinny. At the end of the week, I'm more or less the same. And honestly, I couldn't go on with my calorie count anyway, it really is stressful!

I've been reading Kokoro by Natsume Soseki. I should be reading through it quicker since I'm enjoying it so much, but I still have a bit more to go. I've never read any of Soseki's work, even though I've been meaning to. Maybe I'll take a friend's recommendation and read another book by him afterward. He's the face of the 1000 yen bill, I should at least know a thing or two about the guy.

That really is all that's been going on lately. The date of my departure to Japan is still being finalized, but hopefully I will leave in two weeks depending on a few factors. Too bad it's not as simple as buying a plane ticket. I still need to get my visa and work out some money technicalities. I keep telling myself SOON, SOOOOON!
